  • 48 firms to invest N170.5bn in Lekki FTZ : Forty eight companies have expressed their commitments to invest $1.1 billion (N170.5 billion) in the Lagos Lekki Free Trade Zone (LFTZ), the Minister of Trade and Investment, Olusegun Aganga, has said.
  • Nigeria, Jamaica to Resume Oil, Gas Trade : Nigeria and Jamaica would re-visit their interests in the multi-million dollars oil and gas trade with a view to boosting bilateral ties in the trade of the commodities which was first suspended in 1993 by the military regime of the late General Sani Abacha.

  • FEC approves N325 million contract for second Niger Bridge : The consultancy contract for the final planning and design of the second Niger Bridge will cost N325 million. Briefing state house correspondents on the contract, the Minister of Works, Mr Mike Onolemehinme said that the bridge forms a major link between the South-east and the South-west sub regions of the country.

  • 78 students to benefit from Gbagyi youth scholarship scheme : Akulodo Gbagyi Youth Development Association (AGYAJ), Jikwoyi, a socio-cultural body of the indigenous people of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja will this Saturday in Abuja launched a scholarship scheme for its 78 students in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
  • 100 entrepreneurial graduates get N20m : The ceremony, which took place at Awka-Etiti in Idemili South Local Government, was held under the supervision of Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi.
     
  • Indigent People Benefit From N1bn Zakkah In Kano : Kano State Zakkah and Endowment Commission is to distribute N1billion Zakkah collections to indigent people in the state, director-general of the commission Alhaji Safiyanu Gwagwarwa has disclosed.
  • 1,000 A-Ibom youths to benefit from diaspora training : No fewer than 1,000 youths from Akwa Ibom State are to benefit from the first batch of training and economic empowerment programme designed by a group of Akwa Ibom State professionals under the auspices of the Ibom Diaspora Trust to help establish the culture of entrepreneurship in the state.
  • MTN expands broadband internet to more cities : Telecommunications company, MTN Nigeria has expanded the coverage of its WiMAX driven revolutionary Internet service, MTN HyNet, to the cities of Abuja and Port Harcourt. This is to further boost internet penetration in the two cities.

  • Nigerian Rated as 9th World Best Innovator in E-learning : In the latest rating by a United Kingdom based agency, Bob Little Public Relations, a Nigerian, Mr Muyiwa Bamgbose, has been rated world’s 9th best innovator in electronic learning. According to the rating, Bamgbose has joined the list of the World’s best 10 innovators in e-learning for the second time.
