Investments in Nigeria

  • Katsina invests over N3bn in agriculture, job creation : Katsina state, in partnership with International organization from the Peoples Republic of China has invested N3.440 billion in agricultural productivity, poverty reduction, employment generation and wealth creation.
  • Swedish firm targets Nigeria’s oil industry : Nigeria’s oil and gas industry may attract a major investment as Alfa Laval – a leading Swedish equipment manufacturer has concluded arrangement to collaborate with an indigenous firm, Jocam Nigeria Limited, to provide parts and maintenance services for all the former’s equipment with manufacturer’s warranty.
  • MTN Nigeria Plans $1.5 Billion Investment This Year : MTN’s Corporate Services Executive, Adewale Goodluck, is quoted as saying that the company’s Nigerian operation “would get the highest part of the investments plan by the MTN Group”, which is, according to the report, just under 50% of the total capital expenditure.

  • BHS International to construct a 65-storey trade tower : BHS International Ltd., the concessionaire of Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos, on Monday said it would construct a 65-storey trade tower, expected to be one of the tallest buildings in Sub-Sahara Africa. The Manager, Corporate Affairs of the company, Mrs Josephine Abraham said this in a statement, said that the firm would also carry out other renovation and expansion works at the Square.
  • ITF to establish 46 industrial skills centres : The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) says it is planning to establish 46 industrial skills acquisition centres across the country under its National Industrial Skills Development Programme (NISDP).

  • Mining: Turkey firm plans 40,000 jobs for Nigerians : A Turkish quarry firm investors have said that they have laid out plans to create over 40,000 jobs in Nigeria. Managing Director of Zeberced Limited, Adil Kurt made this known yesterday when the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Mines and Steel, Mr Linus Awute, represented the minister during tour of quarry companies operating in Abuja.
  • Bloomberg donates $100m to eradicate polio in Nigeria, Others : Michael R. Bloomberg has announced a  $100 million  donation to support polio eradication efforts through Bloomberg Philanthropies. The donation will help fund the Global Polio Eradication Initiative's (GPEI) six year plan to eradicate polio.
