  • Germany to build power plant in Katsina : The German government is concluding arrangements in the planning phase for a solar power plant in Katstina State. The German ambassador to Nigeria, Mrs. Janetzke-Wenzel who visited Katsina on Monday to launch the solar power plant disclosed that the power plant was part of the German-Nigerian Energy partnership.
  • Nigeria: Wacot to Establish Cotton Ginnery in Bauchi : Bauchi — West African Cotton Company (WACOT) will establish a Cotton Ginnery in Bauchi State, Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Tembe Ravi, said at a meeting with the state committee on the revival of cotton production that it is regrettable that of the over 30 cotton ginneries in the country only about six are operating and even these, at far below their installed production capacities.
  • Dangote Commences Plans To Build N300bn Fertiliser Plant In Edo State : Billionaire businessman and wealthiest African, Aliko Dangote, has finalized plans to build a N300 billion fertiliser plant in Agenebode, Edo State. Dangote made the disclosure on Monday, at a reception in Benin City to mark the 2nd term inauguration of Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

  • Nigeria: Narict Offers Pupils Scholarship : Kaduna — The National Research Institute for Chemical Technology (NARICT), Zaria has awarded scholarship to deserving pupils of primary and secondary schools in Zaria.
  • Kano govt gives 88,000 women N10,000 each : Kano – A total of 88,000 women in Kano State have so far benefited from the government’s free capital of N10,000 each. The State Governor, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, disclosed this when the Director-General, National Centre for Women Development, Mrs Fatima Batera, paid him a courtesy visit in Kano on Friday.
  • NDDC donates science equipment to schools in Imo : TO enhance academic performance, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), yesterday in Owerri, Imo State, donated various modern science equipment valued at several millions of naira to five tertiary institutions, 23 secondary schools and 21 primary schools.
  • Firm to create 20,000 jobs in C’River : a Singaporean firm, Wilmar International, has inaugurated 50,000-hectare Oil Palm plantations in Cross River State. The plantation has the capacity to employ over 20,000 persons, which is equivalent to the state’s work force.
