  • GE’s N160bn investment in Nigeria to boost local content : General Electric, GE, the world's leading player in technological manufacture, deployment and skill capacity building, has said its current investment in a multi-million dollar facility in Calabar, Cross River State, was part of its vision to support the local content agenda in the country and impact positively on the economy.
  • More Foreign Investors Enter Nigeria : In furtherance of its overall local content drive, global infrastructure giants General Electric (GE) has attracted 3 Italian based investor-companies to Nigeria to explore partnership opportunities with indigenous Nigerian Engineering companies. The companies include Allimep, Duemme and Sime.
  • NIGERIA SIGNS N92BN PACT ON BURUTU INDUSTRIAL PARK : The federal government through the Nigeria Investment Promotion Council (NIPC) yesterday in Abuja consummated the signing of joint venture partnership agreement between Petro-Equip Engineering Company Limited and Akawa Global Services Limited on industrial and maritime projects in Burutu, Delta State.

  • Meet 11yr old Nigerian appointed as ambassador by Tanzanian 1st lady : Africa’s child ambassador, eleven year old Zuriel Oduwole, the Nigerian girl making the global case for educating the continents Girl Child and in the process, re-branding Africa, has been appointed an ambassador by Tanzania’s First Lady. Zuriel was in the country last week – which was her second county stop on her East African leg to launch the acclaimed Dream Up, Speak Up, Stand Up project aimed at inspiring/encouraging African girls.

  • Hungarian promises scholarship for 50 Nigerian students next year : The Republic of Hungary will from 2014 offer an all-expense paid scholarship to 50 Nigerian students in the fields of Medicine, Technology, Engineering and Basic Sciences, the Hungarian Secretary of State for Foreign and External Affairs, Mr Peter Szijarto has announced.
